Overall, this is a very nice ski and snowboard tuning vise. It's made of metal so it should hold up to years of use, all of the clamps are threaded nicely and are easy to use, and the middle clamp to do side edges works very well to clamp the side of the ski or board. There's some rubber padding where the vise clamps to a table to reduce the chance of scratching the surface that you're clamping it to. I found that the suction cups work well, as long as you have a flat and glossy ski or snowboard top sheet! I tried it with my wife's Never Summer snowboard that has a grided rubber "Carbonium" texture finish, and the suction cups don't work on it at all. So, if your skis or snowboards don't have a smooth, glossy top sheet, these probably won't work. I deducted a star for that. Other than the compatibility with your ski and/or snowboard top sheet, The XCMAN Ski and Snowboard Vise has good adjustability and versatility for a wide variety of skis and snowboards. It has wide adjustability for the doing side edges, and it should hold any thickness of ski and snowboard. To vary length, obviously you just change how wide the vises sit apart. The suction cup portion of the vise also adjusts, so you can change the width by 1.5" on each side. The rubber bands that are included are to hold down your ski brakes-I didn't see any mention of that anywhere. They're thick do a good job of holding down the ski brakes for flat filing the bases.

this vise setup works well for basic board maintenance like waxing and gouge filling. the padding ensures your deck won’t get all scuffed up. they are easy to set up on the workbench and store easily out of the way. they seem to be a little flimsy though, so if you’re scraping wax a little too aggressively they may give out, but otherwise very well made. great value
