Very effective, easy to use
Been doing my own tune-ups for decades, but always had used an old regular iron. This one works great, precise temperature control, and the resting pad is great when doing multiple pairs. Used if for a few months now, and it appears it has many years of use ahead.

Great value
I've had 2 prior wax irons, both non-digital, a Swix and a Toko which cost around $30 to $35 at the time. Both got the job done and each lasted several years. This XCman model (which seems to be the same as the Wintersteiger digital wax iron) seems to come to temp a bit faster. It has a thicker and larger soleplate which makes the job faster, even though they all were 800-watt irons. The actual temperature at the sole plate's surface is quite a bit lower, according to my Fluke temperature probe, than the reading shown on the iron but that is not a problem as I dial in the temp based on what works for the hardness of the wax I'm applying. The temperature seems to settle in about 5 degrees lower than the temp I dialed in and remains pretty stable. After using this iron I like it better than my prior less expensive irons. Now if this iron will just last for many more years I'll change from liking it better to growing to love it, at least to the extent one can love a tool.

Much better than non-digital--better duty cycle.
Has their non digital wax iron and did not like it-too short a duty cycle-needing to turn temp up and then danger of burning ski base--picked up this model--digital temp-better duty cycle-less danger of messing up ski bases and need for p-tex repair. Definitely worth the price.

Warning the plug
My fault really.Buy the wrong plug. I wonder if I can use an adapter on 240v? If not will be returning

Great value and performance.
Good temp control and super easy to use. 4 stars as it loses a degree or two while waxing. To get good penetration it would be nice to have it maintain the set temp. Raising it from the ski for 5 seconds brings it tight back to temp.

There is something wrong with the plug. Its too short or something, and it turns off a lot.

Great wax iron
I used it 4 times to wax snowboards with universal and warm (spring) Purl wax at 110C. It heats quickly and keeps the temperature. I did not heat it over 110C, so I can't tell for higher temperatures. The board's base is colder and you can expect a 2-3C drop when the iron sole touches the base. As you're not supposed to keep the iron for too long on the base, otherwise you may burn it, just set the temperature 2-3C above the wax recommended temperature.

Great iron, just increase the temp about 3 degrees above wax recommend temp
First let me start off by saying that I definitely recommend this iron. You get a lot for that cheap price. But now my thoughts: Originally I planned on getting the Swix T77, however when I went to buy it, it was sold out pretty much everywhere. So I ended up deciding on this iron. It works really well and that digital temp indicator IS SO HANDY. It makes finding the right temp so so easy. I’m not sure I would have liked the Swix one just because it didn't have that digital temp indicator. My only one complaint is that it doesn’t hold its temp super well but I found a pretty easy way around this. I just increase the temp about 3-5 degrees more than what the wax recommended temp is and it stays pretty consistent. It’s honestly a really good waxing iron with a decently thick base. My only other note is that it is really easy to scratch when you get to the tips and tail of the ski, but this seems to be a pretty universal issues among waxing irons so you just have to be careful when you get to the tips and tail.
